Optional Labs

Your data. Your device. Your call.

Optional Labs makes eight small apps for phones and computers. Each one shows you what stays on your device and what leaves it.

Revive's recovery screen
Saifu's home screen

Parchi: papers stay on the phone

ZeroAuth: no codes or passwords leave

Eight apps. One rule.

Each app fixes one everyday problem, and keeps what you give it with you.

  1. Saifu

    Credit card advisor for India

    The problem
With a few credit cards, it is hard to know which one pays most at checkout, and fee waivers, monthly caps and expiring points slip by.
    What we fixed
Saifu ranks your cards for each spend and warns you before a fee waiver, a cap or your points run out.
  2. Parchi

    Family medical papers

    The problem
Prescriptions, lab reports and hospital bills pile up in drawers and photo galleries, and the one you need is never at hand at the doctor's.
    What we fixed
Parchi reads each paper on your phone, files it under the right family member and makes a one-page summary for the next visit.
  3. ZeroAuth

    Authenticator for iPhone and Android

    The problem
Many authenticator apps sync your secret keys to the cloud, where one breach can expose every code.
    What we fixed
ZeroAuth makes your codes on the phone, with no internet needed, and keeps the keys in an encrypted vault that never leaves it.
  4. Tegami

City-hall letters, for residents of Japan

    The problem
Letters from Japanese government offices come in formal Japanese, with deadlines, amounts and era dates that are easy to miss.
    What we fixed
Tegami tells you what the letter is, what to do and by when, in plain English, without the letter leaving your phone.
  5. Passo

    Travel stamps journal for iPhone

    The problem
Trips blur together in a photo roll, and keeping a record of them should not mean handing your passport to an app.
    What we fixed
Passo keeps your passport details in an encrypted vault on the iPhone, adds a stamp only after you confirm an arrival, and shares trips with personal fields hidden.
  6. Helm

Your Mac, from iPhone or Android

    The problem
You are away from your desk and your Mac needs you: a build to restart, a service to check, a long job to watch.
    What we fixed
Helm opens a terminal on your Mac from your iPhone or Android, with screen, files, chat and audio on Pro. There is no SSH, VPN or port forwarding to set up.
  7. JobMatch

Job search for India, on your computer

    The problem
Four job sites, four searches, the same job posted three times, and no way to tell which of hundreds of posts actually fit your resume.
    What we fixed
JobMatch searches the four boards at once, scores every job against your resume, and shows the skills you have and the ones to add.
  8. Revive

Sleep, recovery and HRV from your wearable

    The problem
Most health apps hand you a wall of figures, and compare you with a stranger instead of with your own normal.
    What we fixed
Revive says how you slept and how ready you are in plain words, then shows the number behind it, always against your own normal.

How we build

Three rules every Optional Labs app follows, and what each app does to keep them.

Your data stays with you.

  • ZeroAuthVault encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with keys held in the phone's secure hardware.
  • SaifuYour cards and spends stay on your phone.
  • ParchiPapers are read by the phone itself, not by a server.
  • TegamiLetters are encrypted on the device and never leave it.
  • PassoPassport details are encrypted on the iPhone with a key that needs a device passcode.
  • JobMatchYour resume is read on your computer. Only a job title and a city go out to the job boards.
  • HelmTerminal, screen, files and audio go over an encrypted connection between your devices. Our server only introduces them.
  • ReviveYour health data stays on your phone. Nothing leaves it unless you turn on AI explanations.

No account unless the job needs one.

  • SaifuNo sign-up and no account. No card numbers and no bank login.
  • ParchiNo account to make and no server to sign in to.
  • TegamiNo account, no server, no analytics.
  • PassoNo account, no analytics.
  • JobMatchTwo free searches with no sign-up.
  • HelmNeeds a Google sign-in, so your phone can find your Mac.
  • ReviveNo sign-up and no cloud.

You stay in control.

  • ZeroAuthBackups are encrypted with a passphrase you choose.
  • SaifuCard rules not yet checked against the bank's terms carry a warning, and affiliate links are labelled.
  • ParchiEvery detail it reads sits next to the original photo, for you to check and correct.
  • TegamiSee the original letter and the exact text that was read, beside the explanation.
  • PassoNothing is stamped until you confirm it.
  • JobMatchEvery score shows its reasons: click Why on any card.
  • HelmEvery new device is approved on your Mac before it can connect.
  • ReviveAI explanations are off until you turn them on.

Pick an app. Keep your data.
